First phase of the project - Monosyllabic monomorphemic words -
In a first phase of the project, we tested 1,826 monosyllabic monomorphemic French words in lexical decision and naming tasks. Thirty-five participants (psychology students from Blaise Pascal University) were tested in the lexical decision task and 38 additionnal participants (from the same pool) were tested in the word naming task.
The results of these experiments are currently under analysis. Following Balota et al. (2004), we took the conservative approach of only including words that achieved at least a 67% level of accuracy in the lexical decision task. This criteria preserved 1,492 words (you can download here the list of the 334 excluded items).

Main phase of the project - Polysyllabic polymorphemic words -
We are currently testing 40,000 French words and nonwords in the lexical decision task (1,000 participants will be tested).
So far, 415 participants have been tested in the lexical decision task (April 22, 2008)
